The season for track and field is coming to a quick end, there is a month left in the season and everyone is trying to book their last minute tickets to nationals. This past weekend we enjoyed a fun filled trip to Penn Relays, though we did not run our best we still feel confident that when nationals come around May 23-28 all the big races that we have been in will pay off.

The true focus of this last month of the year is how to stay healthy, health for any team is key to the success they want to have over the course of the year. Especially the end of the year were injuries matter the most.

It makes it a very difficult time of year because your athletes body is beaten, mentally and physically they are not there not because they don’t want it to be but collegiate athletes at this time of year have a lot going on. How many finals they have to take, were they are going to work this summer, seniors have a bigger task because come May most of them will be graduating and moving on to bigger things.

Coaches have to take the necessary steps to keep all their athletes healthy, not pushing them to hard, keeping practice competitive but fun, and allowing them to focus on the things that really matter. Studying hard for their finals, making sure they have some type of job lined up for the summer and allowing track and field to be the last thing they have to stress or worry about.

I told my team that this last month have fun with it, work hard but have fun running with your teammates we don’t want any regrets at the end of year on or off the track. Flotrack.com has a video posted on their web-site of our race at Penn Relays.

There are a couple meets throughout my life that I ran in that are special to me. Special in a way that makes me remember them for a long time and always want chances to go back and run at those meets again.

Well this weekend I am getting that chance, the Warner University 4×400 meter relay team has been invited to run at the 2009 Penn Relays Carnival located in Philadelphia, Pa. This is probably the biggest meet of the year on U.S. soil. It brings the best of the best from high school to professional, teams from other countries like Jamaica, Russia, China and many more.

I have ran at this meet 5 times, and it is always and amazing atmosphere and a great place to run at. Not just the meet but everything else that goes along with it. For one weekend downtown Philadelphia is turned into track town International. I grew up twenty minutes outside of Phila, this meet is like going home, I watched my sister run there most of my best friends and a lot of hall of fame track and field athletes. Not to mention having the honor to run there myself.

This will mark the six year I will compete at this meet and I am so excited, I have friends and relatives coming to see me run, people who wrote about me in newspapers are going to be there, this meet is just all around the best track meet I have ever had the honor of attending. It might be the last time I get a chance to run here so I am going to have fun while doing it, run hard and thank my lord and savior for another opportunity to be apart of something so special to me.

how to conquer a roller coaster.( I didn’t win)

One of my worst fears are roller coasters, they are so much fun. But when it comes to conquering these things it’s a whole other thing for me. So I made a video of me trying to conquer a roller coaster and losing.

It was quite funny cause the video looks just like me when I am on a roller coaster trying not to throw up, look happy and not trying not to throw up all at the same time. It’s very skillful thing to be able to do because, you have all these feelings and emotions going on at once to be able to control them is beyond magnificent lol.

I can compare trying to beat the likes of a roller coaster, is like trying to beat someone in track and field because as you run your body tires, your mind weakens and the race still needs to be won. Most of the time when you are able to conquer all those feelings and tell your mind and heart you can do it you come out on top, maybe not in the race but within yourself.

In a sport like track and field it is not always about winning and losing but proving to yourself that you can do it and, if asked you could do it again. Just like a roller coaster for me I have not conquered all the roller coasters I have been on in my life, but if asked to go on another one I am the first in line to try and defeat the odds.

I pick the worst times to get sick man, when everything is due my body don’t want to act right.

I have to do what I have to do, and I have to do my school work, so thanks for nothing body.

Trackshark.com has been the leading source of collegiate track and field for some time now. It allowed you to stay up to date on all divisions of track and field from D1 to NAIA.

That was where I went for everything it was almost my second home lol.

Seriously they were at the top of the game in the track and field world, results were put fast, a bunch of different meets to look at, news about everything and everyone related to track and field.

But as of last month they shut the site down due to money issues, they couldn’t find any corporate sponsors to take on a load of this kind of web-site.

They didn’t think it would be a profitable thing to do. Trackshark made track and field athletes feel important, made us feel like someone actually cared about our sport, and now it’s gone. So I say thanks for everything trackshark, and there is a link on my page to the site it has its last cover page.

Why they blame us for the stupidity in the world. (Jury found us innocent)

Life is what they call an up-hill battle, not being able to reach the top. So I ask the question what is the top what are we reaching for and why are we always fighting up-hill?

To me and this is just my opinion the top is where ever you want it to be your battles are your own and you set standard to what you and God feels like is a positive reaching point.

The reason its so up-hill is because we never stop fighting we never stop trying to be better people and prove the world wrong.

The reason I ask this question is because, I read a blog on wordpress.com that made me upset. The post read “Why do chrisians insist that Hitler was an atheist.”

So when I got finished reading the blog, I said to myself is this guy saying that Hitler and I worshipped the same God.

It hurt, I mean it did to sit there and tell me that Jesus died on the cross for us for all of us.
I never thought that someone would have enough balls to say something like that, but that is the way of the world today.

That is why life is an up-hill battle, and the only goals we set are the ones that God needs us to attain while on earth, no more no less. Hitler was and still is a child of God he choose his own path just like so many others.

We have to continue to fight for the Christian community, continue to prove the world wrong cause for some reason they are out to get us.

Injuries they suck more than a popsicle. (Its going to be a hot one)

Certain problems occur in track and field that you just can’t understand. Just don’t make no sense, you try to make sense out of it, but you only hurt your brain doing it. I am talking about the thing they call injuries; they are the stupidest part of sports today, and even more stupid in track.

You can be feeling fine no pain no soreness or anything that could reflect a possible injury about to happen. Then you are at a meet or maybe even practice you stretch the wrong way and boom that’s it never even seen it coming, and you’re out for the rest of the year.

You just sit back and think “how the H did that happen”. But on the contrary there are people who can go through a whole year being in constant pain, soreness all the time and never have a major injury.

Just stupid right, can’t understand it, and I dang sure am not hurting my brain to try and explain, its just something that happens that we learn to live with and move on. The hurt of a champion is not to fight when they are standing up, its to be able to fight when you are knocked down.

Is the year over yet (Ha guess again)

This year it seems like has been dragging on for centuries. Schoolwork, sports, planning on what you are going to do for the summer. Being a senior is even worse because every class counts and you work so hard not to mess up.

It’s stressing sometimes, and the heat doesn’t make it a better. It so hot you don’t even want to do work sometimes.

But we work hard, because we have futures that can live and die on the grades you get in school.

It don’t help with the fact that some of us have spring sport seasons, meaning we have to miss class due to games or meets and its so hard to make up work on top of the work we already have.

I have to say though it has been a fun year, have met a lot of new people interesting people and made friendships stronger. Probably one of the best years I have had in college. Sad and happy that it has to come to a close, but I am not going to argue when the year is over.

Why? Because I graduate in December, I can’t be a happier person. So a toast to a weird but successful year, and to all my friend’s have a great summer.

How to break up a happy marriage (The misery).

The bases of a marriage are “till death do us part”. Right? So how is it that people break up before they die? I guess death wasn’t really the reason they parted huh? Here are top five ways on how to break up a happy marriage.
One: consistently work late, only to be able to pay the bills right on time. Were the money going honey?

Two: Take your friends advice that your spouse is a loser and he/she is not good for you, while you go out and party every night leaving them to watch the kids.

Three: Actually being a loser can’t keep a job and does nothing to help the financial gain of the marriage. But still have enough money to buy your kids the latest gear, were are your priorities

Four: Having his or her parents hate their spouse due to the fact that they are to good too be true. Parents are just mad cause there marriage is crap.

Five: Last but not least, the ultimate way to break up a happy marriage is to cheat and when you get caught cheat again and then when you don’t get caught the second time cheat again. When they

ask you why “Blame it on the alcohol” HAHA.

track meets are about as fun as the Opera (boringg)

The prepration for a meet is just so long and drawn out, almost like the Opera. You got to pack your clothes that you are running in, clothes for just in case the forecast wants to change and then make the however many hours trip to the track. It makes for a long day of watching boring races until its time for you to run.

Its almost like the climax of the an Opera show were the singer is hitting all those high notes all the suspense of what’s going to happen and then pouf its all over. Feels like all the adrenaline and the anticipation last for about a minute or two maybe three if your lucky. But that’s my sport you got to live and die with it for you to do it, and I do it to the fullest. Thank God for another day to run track and field

Top five ways on how not to fall asleep in chapel (tough task)

We will begin with the fan favorite for the day text messaging, it is probably the easiest way for a lot of people cause it keeps them occupied on thing s they care about and off of the things they don’t. Number two could be very helpful to the classes you have after chapel do your homework, its a great way to past time and get something constructive done in basically what most people call free time. I mean this is probably the hardest out of the five you could talk to your friends, depending on where you sit it could be rather easy to hold a two person conversation with your neighbor. Number four was the best one I could have thought of that is you can actually listen it doesn’t hurt to listen to the speaker of the day you can actually learn something you didn’t know before you came to chapel. Last but not least to elevate the process of putting the top four into play don’t go, whatever you in your room when chapel is not going on you can do that. That is my top five reasons on how to stay up in chapel.
